In 2005 we kick off the Mesquite Championship Rodeo's 48th season on Friday, April 1st, 8-10 pm. This unique brand of western entertainment continues each Friday and Saturday through September 24th. Our home is modern, air-conditioned Resistol Arena, conveniently located on I-635 at Military Pkwy exit #4. It's a short, 15 minute drive from Dallas' skyscrapers, but a world away. Resistol Arena offers paved and lighted parking, with plenty of room for cars and busses. Admission gates are only a few steps away and open at 6:30 pm. No need to rush. Remember, you're in our world now. When you enter you're greeted by air-conditioning (a must in Texas), live Texas music, pony rides and a petting zoo. Be sure to pose for bull photos and browse our Texas shops for that perfect souvenir. And what's Texas without barbecue? You'll discover tucked in one corner of Resistol Arena the cozy Sonny Bryan's BBQ Pavilion and culinary delights like mouth- watering beef brisket and sausage. They're perfectly complemented by old fashioned potato salad, cole slaw, barbecue beans, rolls, condiments and iced tea. Don't forget the peach cobbler. It's delicious.
